Coming Soon: Field Guides
Access and Benefit Sharing
Our first field guide aims to inform psychedelic companies on the ethical and legal imperatives of respecting Indigenous rights and understanding access and benefit-sharing protocols.
The document underscores psychedelic companies' obligation to adhere to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the Convention on Biological Diversity Treaty - international laws safeguarding Indigenous rights. It defines critical concepts like Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS), Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC), and Mutually Agreed Terms (MAT) for ethical engagement. Recognizing the dissonance between Western and Indigenous worldviews, Common Field intends to build bridges through respectful dialogue, relationship-building, and prioritizing Indigenous perspectives.
The field guide will be available for public reading shortly. In the meantime, we invite you to take our stakeholder assessment.
